Here's the update for August. Erin and I traveled up to Canada at the start of the month to celebrate both of my parents turning 70 (!) this year. We spent the weekend at Colleen and Richard's place on Bob-lo island near Windsor. It was our first summer trip there. Family came from all over with Brian coming from Korea, myself and Erin from LA or course and several cousins and aunts coming from Ireland. There are some pictures here (Just updated). It was a mostly relaxing weekend. You forget sometimes how hard the Irish and Canadians can party. The people I hangout with on the West Coast are relative lightweights (Mr. and Mrs. Terhorst excluded). The weekend was pretty relaxed with a barbeque on Friday and some games and and a dinner out on Saturday. It was great to see everybody together. Opportunities keep getting fewer.

Since then, I've spent t2 weeks in Portland kicking off a new project for work. Last weekend we watched Edward Scissorhands at the Hollywood Cemetery. I may have taken a nap during the last half of it but the picnic beforehand was fun. The movie itself was not as good as last year's LA Confidential at Barnsdall Park.

What else happened? Oh yes, at the start of the month I had underwent surgery to fix a nut related problem. It was pretty minor, a quick recovery and so far the results are good. Unfortunately, there will be no pictures of the scars.

So far so good. There has been only minor discomfort, like a tiny abrasion on my tongue that is already gone. I am getting used to them quite easily. They are in 22+ hours a day. Hopefully, I will have straight teeth in a month.rackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06975873523502001249noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7628276285544105080.post-127773329488344732010-11-11T09:06:00.000-08:002010-11-11T09:11:31.608-08:00Hilton Head Pics

I just added the pictures that we took during our trip to Hilton Head to visit with Iain, Maggie and Ella. We have gone out after work for some festivities every night we've been here - except tonight. There are so many great spots in Portland. Here is a food and a drink recommendation. It was great to stay downtown last week as there is much less to do in Beaverton and the food quality does not extend out that far. Also, the Courtyard City Center is a much nicer than the typical Courtyard.rackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06975873523502001249noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7628276285544105080.post-57494057721767502072010-10-18T23:57:00.000-07:002010-10-19T00:14:36.480-07:00SeattleI spent last weekend ( Oct 9 ) in Seattle with Erin visiting Brent, Gwen, Fletch and Chase. It had been a while since we'd seen each other. In fact, Erin and Gwen had never meet. Since I was back in Portland for a three week stint we decided to meet half way (the Brent's live in Vancouver).

The plan was made McAnoy style - aka - no plans. However, we did manage some entertainment including a visit to the Seattle Art Museum to see the new Picasso exhibit (oddly my second time seeing a Picasso exhibit). We also visited a music event, the puny Space Needle, the Pike Market and some nice eateries. I recommend Campagne - delicious.

Here are some pics:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvkkanHwVU5nl57HFv6DNzbP1hZrIWjPiebEqAcoS3PtBQSZTXki3KVy7tOktrekUdqMHPg8enwn_LQv7WeI0XDl44VyVUwetZjHTKG-72VCsh9xUOQmT-kOvqNjnISb5W6EVDdxjqhzI/s200/DSCF7635.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5529650614766207138" />The lad in the middle is single!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgf3SMwZAoVKIqALCAvPIsCFZYf3yz5jdO0plB3JDQpqsJMa-6dNvruuNE0hgCHhGYQPe7f1b8FSt4jbluhMIp8Y6_6h1uiNKSoSTiOMZEi4PxIOUvvZDq9HieiJXCIqkZ-ZN9YKgSyarA/s200/DSCF7629.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5529650594834404242" /> The dress is a gift for a young lady that has yet to receive it. That notice will give details on how I can checked on the status of my application. The mail should arrive in the next couple of weeks. A few things to catch up on. I change job at the end start of May basically doing the same stuff with a lot more travel. I returned to Toronto at the end of May for a quick visit and to get a new work permit. I got a hard time from the immigration officer at the airport. He hated the later my employer gave me but let me through when I wrote down my own job description.

I got to the airport about 3 hours before my flight. There was the biggest line ever - at least in my experience. I managed to get one of the Air Canada reps to push me closer to the front of the line. Once I got to secondary screening ALL the immigration reps went on dinner break. Then, I got into trouble with the letter. Finally, the cashier was lost. I ended up making my flight which was boarding when I got to the gate. Whew.

The job has been going pretty well. I travel up to Portland most weeks. Portland is a pretty nice town with the exception of the rain (every single day in May that I was there). There is lots of foliage and mountains.

In addition to those travels I have also been to New York, Philadelphia, South and North Carolina in the last 2 months. New York, for fun before a wedding in Philadelphia. Then Erin and I met up with Iain, Maggie and baby in Hilton Head for a weeks vacation. I guess we also spent a night in DC when we missed our connecting flight home from HH. Right now I am in NC for a work event. Erin and I have also spent a couple of weekends in San Clemente with Erin's parents in June.

What's up next? More Portland. Erin is going to come up in a couple of weeks for the weekend. A rare weekend not traveling for me. We are also thinking of going to Chicago for a long weekend in September, perhaps seeing Wrigley Field.

Cheers!rackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06975873523502001249noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7628276285544105080.post-56000874373625093962010-03-27T14:25:00.001-07:002010-03-27T14:34:22.836-07:00Borrego SpringsErin and I visited her Uncle Jim in Borrego Springs last weekend. We had planned to a little golfing and relaxing but our schedule changed when Jim had to play in a golf tournament that weekend. So, instead Erin did a lot of lounging by the pool visiting the town art exhibit seeing the wild flowers and buying grapefruits. I, on the other hand got to play in the tournament as Jim's partner. Here's how that went.

On the very first hole I pulled out the driver on par and must have drove the ball about 5 to 10 yards. I almost missed it. Normally, I would just take a mulligan and re-tee but this is not allowed in tournament golf. Fortunately, we were playing a scramble and we could just use Jim's ball. We ended up in the middle of the pack on day one. Day two was better, playing full net score we were able to post a combined 138 to win the tournament. Hurrah!rackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06975873523502001249noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7628276285544105080.post-69439843182022780352010-03-27T14:20:00.001-07:002010-03-27T14:25:11.966-07:00Bay AreaErin and I vacationed in the bay area a couple of weeks ago visiting a couple of Erin's college chums. It was enjoyed but not particularly interesting. The best place we went to was a little restaurant in San Francisco called Universal Cafe. Erin and I went there for bruch on Sunday. Everything on the menu is cage-free farm fresh and delicious. We also saw the Raptors lay down another game, this time against Golden State. We were visiting Erin's college chum Chad who happens to rent a pretty nice place there. Of particular note was the Sunday brunch of enormous portions at Hash House A-Gogo. The interesting thing was that the food was actually pretty good. Among the things we shared was an eggs benedict that had a large southern fried chicken in place of the ham. On Saturday we ended up at a 'speakeasy' that was trying really hard to recreate that old time feel with mixed but positive results.

Another thing I found interested was that San Diego seems to have a real good downtown. Something that cannot be said for a lot of American cities. We were there Saturday and it had a very vibrant nightlife in a condensced area so you could walk to many places once you get downtown. I liked it.rackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06975873523502001249noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7628276285544105080.post-80020630750467668982010-01-14T00:03:00.000-08:002010-01-14T00:06:48.331-08:00Wedding PhotosHere's a link to some of our wedding photos http://www.mcanoy.com/McAnoy/photos/view/name/Union+Station+2009/1rackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06975873523502001249noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7628276285544105080.post-39406459926655488102009-12-03T22:44:00.000-08:002009-12-03T23:26:27.741-08:00HollywoodOk. This time not so far. We've taken on a short least in Hollywood (near Sunset and Vine). Let's see how this neighborhood plays out. Also, we're saying some money on rent. The place is about the same size as the last. It is a 1+1 bedroom with 1.5 baths. It is in a fourplex with parking. Nothing fancy.rackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06975873523502001249noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7628276285544105080.post-63195095778649508092009-11-06T13:21:00.000-08:002009-11-09T16:37:58.569-08:00Honeymoon: Riviera MayaAhhh. Relaxing. It's nice to do nothing. Now, I know people will tell you that I am expert in this area but lately I've had to do things all the time. By the end of the wedding I was exhausted. Erin was even worse off because she did way more stuff than I. The guys beat me down pretty well in Vegas. So with that we were off to the Riviera Maya for a few days of sun and sleep.

There is not really much to tell. We didn't leave the resort. We had a nap every day before dinner. The place was really nice but not very active probably because it was off season.

Wee saw a monkey!rackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06975873523502001249noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7628276285544105080.post-16081693555076649212009-11-05T13:00:00.000-08:002009-11-05T16:57:18.387-08:00WeddingSo I guess I am married now.

It was a great day.

Wednesday. Arrived back from Las Vegas with the boys. We mostly kicked up our heels at the apartment and went for a soak in the hot tub.

Thursday. I did some airport shuffles as a lot of out of towners came in this day. The boys and I were able to get together with my brothers and my dad and we all went out for a few (too many) beers downtown before ending up at the Pantry for an amazing breakfast in the wee hours.

Friday. Hurting. I was experience a queer hangover of extreme hunger and no desire to eat. I was also a step slow all day. However, the rehearsal dinner was an absolute success. I managed to pull myself together for it. We had more of a social gather for the two families at Bottlerock with some great food and from what I here was excellent wine - I needed a break.

Saturday. Still feel terrible. I drag myself out to breakfast at Blu cafe with Terrence and Kerrence. I muscled down as much eggs as I could hoping for a miracle. We were about four hours from the ceremony and about 2 hours from activities. When we returned to the apartment the guys went up to the hot tub and I went for a miracle nap. 15 minutes later I was in great shape - a complete turnaround. Whew! The photographer showed up as we began getting ready and then we were off to the Disney Concert Hall for a few early pics then off to Union Station for the rest of the day.

Union Station. Picture, pictures. Help set up and then it's started. Lot's of early arrivals. We had a champagne cocktail hour as erin and i greeted everybody we could. Then it was on with the show. Yada, yada, yada we're married. Dinner, words, music. Time to cut a rug. In a blink it was over. We went back to the Hilton and had some drinks with my dad and siblings. After an exhausting day it was up to the suite and then off to Mexico.

Of course, a good time was had by all.rackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06975873523502001249noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7628276285544105080.post-74478468587136913412009-11-05T11:33:00.000-08:002009-11-05T12:10:34.301-08:00Las VegasSo, it's been a while. Let's try to see if I can do a little better.

A week before the wedding the guys, Sean and the Wick came down from Toronto to party in Vegas for a few days. None of us are degenerate gamblers, Sean being the closest, it was just a good place to gather for some fun. I started out picking up Brent at LAX and drove to Las Vegas. Brent and I had huge suite at the Venetian which planned as the gathering place for everybody. We arrived and grabbed what we could out of the car and headed to the check-in counter. There was a huge line so I sent Brent back to the car for the last bag and waited to check in. The last bag was awkward and weighed about 100 pounds - all booze. I was glad I wasn't carrying it. Brent was not.

The room was really swanky with 3 TV's a nice living room and a couple of beds. We sent up the bar and the TV apparatus I brought and made ourselves a couple of frozen margaritas - yes, I brought a frozen margarita maker. Sunday was pretty mellow. We all met up in the evening, went for dinner and played a little blackjack at Harrah's.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEis5M8vF9tAUBt7-q1UmqjhfS4s9wbGnU4aKLa2e4FUpOHW_4CT-2Q9FgK96T-1dKgTitRN6rdGKxfmXdG2gKzUHzCmyJgUDIuTLocOWJJ32TCKt9gTctg3YoQRSVCw6MhhS0gHx-yFX7k/s200/IMG_0035.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400714401718177938" />

Monday was the gong show day. We went to the pool at the Venetian around noon, lounged and had a couple of drinks. The day wore on and the drinks flowed easily, we lost Iain and Brent but the rest of us were on cruise control. Thanks to the Wick for picking up the pool tab which included a couple of orange jump suits seen in the picture. Back to the suite for more drinks. Rocover Iain and Brent. Kerry, The Wick and I take off and visit a couple we meet earlier in the day. They had an even swankier suite 2000 sqft. Terry and the rest of the guys come to meet us an hour later but have the wrong room number. Most of them take off to another bar, Iain heads home. Kerry, The Wick and I head off to Nine Fine Irishmen in NY which was great. The band was great. I averted a brawl by buying a couple of a-holes a round. After the bar closed we realized we were starving so we went for a slice. It was 3AM we had started drinking 15 hours earlier and had only a snack at the pool since. It was time for bed.

Tuesday. I was a tired and hungry when i got up. Brent and I met up with Iain at his hotel and went for the buffet at Treasure Island. We muscled down as much food as we could (not very much for me) and headed over to the slots where we got the idea to walk the entire strip, stop at every casino, throw in $20 each into the slots - Wheel of Fortune only. It took us about 6 hours and we lost heavily. I was wiped by the end of it and didn't do a lot of partying that night.

Wednesday. Departure. More buffet and then off for Los Angeles. We stopped out the outlet at the Neveda border. Big mistake. What I thought might take 30 minutes took about 2 hours - what a bunch of girls. Everybody trickled out to the cars individually. First me, then Kerry, Terry, Brent and Iain. Ughh. We arrived in Los Angeles around 5pm raring to go, more or less.rackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06975873523502001249noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7628276285544105080.post-16221930207674129352009-08-31T11:15:00.000-07:002009-08-31T11:24:37.256-07:00California Fires<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgH9Q1F46zzZHh44aSpr9_cr9h0TPuwAJDgipPPOB0KsVX3lomBYlcAqMEbNsU44pjMx6aeB40jarqok-o0nQFDPXYXnXOZySBeX76zH2g72WK3UAy3kv7jUxD0Bp6FNkol81ZFxXwIPNw/s200/IMG_0033.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5376194903258127282" />The city is ablaze. There is no danger living downtown but the fires are not that far off either. Our problem is the air quality which is absolutely awful. As well, sometimes the city smells like a campfire which sounds good until you remember what you're breathing in. The view of the fires is in reach as well. On my way home from work last week I could see a huge dark cloud of smoke coming from behind the mountains and what I think was an occasional flash of the fire. On Saturday Erin and I were in Pasadena for a little Pie N' Burger when we took this picture from the car. If you click and open the larger image in the very top left you can see the red of the fire. We had some better views but all while the car was moving so we didn't capture any. Today, downtown is an awful dark gray color.rackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06975873523502001249noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7628276285544105080.post-76289883136381557712009-08-04T13:56:00.000-07:002009-08-04T14:51:06.794-07:00Seamus 1996 - 2009<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 160px; height: 141px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfumLv2ekk43JGjKT7N_2Hn06BcWGewTAsX1jRJfVhskF8-ElofGacZb8vYrXLHo-Cd_e-PboL0EHrX56UlWffljG6W5FfUrU4Lrota9vCx1mApnlapOtJmYzQqmT4rEGNEmM_xo9pJx8/s320/seamus1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5366227429807708098" />
Seamus, our much loved family pet, died Saturday from cancer. He suffered little as the end came quickly. Seamus entered our lives as a hyperactive puppy in the winter of 1997. As a puppy, he chewed everything from sandals to baseball caps, an acivity exacerbated by the lack of a steady supply of chew toys. What made him unique was an extremely happy attitude, his boundless energy and his love for snow. He played well with people and dogs and would knock over children in his excitement over seeing someone his own size. He would greet all who arrived with forceful enthusiasm.
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 168px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYpwb9oX1bA2hmWhrtzdnl2BO8eCPt6URc3DtKeRgrZ-GJQgX13wuNi3AfjMJTOsMFs5palaT3amheLSYH3RQu3FLi-qbHMNugScwtbCmzhAlv4PxmWU5Q7e7ge6nXqyIwYbi6m5PO0ZE/s200/seamus2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5366227745887233490" />
One summer weekend, Seamus made his way up to a cottage in Muskoka. I was called up from the water to see if he was alright. Once I got up there I witnessed him running laps, full speed, around the cottage. This lasted for about 20 minutes. He wasn't chasing anything and wasn't being coaxed by anybody. He just loved to run.

On an extremely hot Saturday in Toronto, I took him to a local dog park. It must have been more than 30 degrees. There were probably 20 dogs in the park and he ran to join the fun. Over the course of an hour the other dogs took refuge in the shade and went on home. New dogs arrived. Seamus continued. The new dogs would tire. Seamus continued. Another set of dogs. Seamus stops to throw up from the heat. Then starts to run again immediately. There was no quit in him. People would ask "How old is your puppy?" and I would reply "7 years".
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJs13u5nssAkO9v8CAo12GqVjQmZTSnyAIjls7qljvQeqdhtBZTSCGTVMnPzTbsFcucMPAWC_GHtuVcAy_mgnqDzEEwGd7DsmsERpqwlgcsh-4-A55MPCGfxu2hY1xbnD3J7ifG4wRWEs/s200/seamus3.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5366228141315055634" />
Seamus also liked to wrestle. He was game against Brian or myself. He knew not to bite. Brian taught him that when wearing gloves it was ok to go all out. He would bite and fight as hard as he could but when the gloves came off he would immediately stop.

Seamus had a bit of genius in him too. Once Christmas morning the family was settling around the tree preparing to open the sea of gifts in front of us. All of sudden, Seamus jumped into the gift pile and knocking gifts around. He then jumped out towing a gift bag with his name on it. Who had taught him to read his own name? (Perhaps it was the fragrance of the bone in the bag. Perhaps.)

When I lived with my mother in Toronto I would walk him each morning before work. I would take him to the park and leave him run and sniff. It was exciting for him and very meditative for me. When I moved on, I missed those walks. Today, I miss them even more.rackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06975873523502001249noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7628276285544105080.post-84202250506254780862009-07-09T14:11:00.000-07:002009-07-27T12:34:38.413-07:00Goooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg14KtiEFG8tAYvxpNxpqZSXvnHGvQNUVi6sHQaoSiB_TXjOGgR2-8mKrnPIfB5Bhcd2Z-kLBT84j9Xf30S-2-YYP7rKkGgl8qUBMUJxkfh5YBUh3au5l75QGeLNizszReUy0iseGuhhK8/s320/IMG_2426.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5356666733572321634" />
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzLjfn3avw_tMuX-v-41hyNKMsTVI55qec7PQqqogGJ8IPqbSGkE9uI0apzk22_sdzh8UNIbtMoHx6YDxLo6HbAqml7Cs6NXsrsvmm4ojem4-M8KOgvfcZkDkFxWGPkwp3sRgNmDLHYtU/s320/IMG_2422a.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5356665147139059666" />
I went to the Canada v Jamaica soccer game at the Home Depot Center in LA last weekend. Canada won 1 - 0 with a nice goal midway through the second half. The stadium is a great place to watch a game. Smallish and open, great seats and good setup in the concession. If only the people working there had an IQ over 8. The game had a great atmosphere. There were about 50 Canadian fans and maybe 30 Jamaican fans at the game. Thank goodness for the Costa Rica / El Salvador game that was following ours. There were another 50 - 100 Costa Rican fans and about 25,000 El Salvadorian fans there who were ready to cheer for anything exciting while they waited for their match. Lots of tailgating in the parking lots. El Salvador won there game in a big upset too but we didn't stay to watch since I had the bird flu and was a bit cold.rackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06975873523502001249noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7628276285544105080.post-87204317373660303992009-06-12T01:08:00.000-07:002009-06-12T01:16:55.752-07:00Tragically Hip at the TroubadourJust got back home from the Tragically Hip concert. Dynamite. The last time I saw them was a few years ago at Fork York with about 14,000 people. Tonight it was me, erin and about 500 more Canadians. The crowd was great. The band was awesome. Downie was on. Even the new stuff sounded good. Highlights were Fiddler's Green, Courage, Poets, Music at Work and Little Bones to finish. Here is a tiny video I shot at the start of the second set. Up later this year we've got Green Day and U2 tickets. We might also look to go to something at the Greek Theatre. Elvis Costello perhaps?

rackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06975873523502001249noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7628276285544105080.post-31380541018371396132009-06-09T13:44:00.000-07:002009-08-11T19:42:26.707-07:00Breakfast in Los Angeles
With the potential that a few visitors from outside of Los Angeles will be descending upon the area to witness the fall nuptials, I thought it might be helpful to give a few recommendations

of interest to travelers. This is the first. Here are my three favorite breakfast places in Los Angeles. These are listed in order but it really depends on the mood or what I feel like and how long I feel like waiting. For example, today's mood is 'Morning Mist' and I skipped breakfast. I should also note that I prefer the traditional breakfast rather than getting too fancy.

The Pantry, downtown. This place is an LA instution. (It's old). There will be a line for breakfast and lunch during the week and brunch on weekends. Go for the counter service if you want to get a seat faster. Table wait can be between 10 minutes and an hour depending on how close to prime time you go and how lucky you get. You might get to the counter right away. Food service is fast once you sit down and your meal decision is easy because it's just the basics. The pancakes are a must. They come plain and are really fluffy. It is a full meal. For the hungry and/or hung over go for the eggs, pancakes, potatoes, bacon (always crispy) combo (I think it's #3).

The Griddle Cafe, West Hollywood. You go hear for an adventure and are not in a particular hurry to eat. The earlier the better on the wekend. by 11am the line is at least 30 minutes long. Order quickly and then wait as it will take about 40 minutes for them to get your food out if the place is full. They just don't have enough kitchen space so your order is going to be queued. The speciality to here are the crazy pancakes that are crazy big. They have about 20 different types. I've had the pumpkin style, rasperry style and another. I am also interested in trying the Cheesecake pancakes but I haven't had the nerve yet. Prepare to waddle home. The non pancake items are also good and also huge.

The Alcove Cafe, Los Feliz. Ah, something a little different. You shouldn't have much of a problem finding a table here but there's a good crowd. Order at the counter, they give you a number and you find a table outside. The place has a nice laid back atmosphere with lots of foliage and it also has outdoor heaters for the cooler days. The breakfast items are the same traditional items but are prepared with a limit more flair. You will also find some Mexican breakfast plates. It's been a while so I forget what I've eaten here but's all been good. I also saw Ed Helms here - star of 'The Hangover'.

rackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06975873523502001249noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7628276285544105080.post-10945216714381731322009-06-08T00:08:00.000-07:002009-06-08T00:26:29.658-07:00Rocky v. Actually, it was more like I heard it. There was definitely a rumble in the city but the building didn't budge. I heard it started in Long Beach which is about 25 miles from downtown.

Plans for the wedding are moving forward. I am supposed to make a site for it where you will be able to get even less info then you get here.

How long will the Blue Jays hang on?rackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06975873523502001249noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7628276285544105080.post-65934358250038216402009-04-27T15:33:00.000-07:002009-04-27T15:34:48.474-07:00Pics From NYHere are the pics from our NY trip in April. the password is terhorst.rackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06975873523502001249noreply@blogger.com0
